Ballot Measure 114 creates a redundant bureaucracy that imposes enormous restrictions on Oregonians who want to legally hunt and enjoy the outdoors. It is poorly written by people who don’t understand that progress will only be made in Oregon to reduce criminal gun violence through investments in public safety, mental health programs, and gang intervention.
114 messes with outdoor legal hunting.
Billed as banning ‘large capacity’ magazines, Measure 114 actually bans hunting firearms like shotguns with barrels over 21 inches. And without the required training courses and permitting system in place, firearm purchases could be effectively eliminated for years. Rifles used to hunt deer and elk won’t be available given the requirements aren’t attainable as they don’t exist.
